I gleaned a little-known factoid today from a book of essays about HCB that I'm 
reading.

This famous photo:

which was taken in 1938, several years after H started using a Leica, was shot 
with a glass-plate camera. 

Not only that, but it is also very extensively cropped. The book includes a 
print of the full negative, which I have photographed and put here:

On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd say that's quite interesting.
