The more I thought about this the more it seems that it might be easier for someone starting out to ask some friends if they would like to earn a little money by getting dressed up. Plan the shots in advance, perhaps in a park. Or rent a church and put up a few flowers. It would probably be no more expensive than paying for pics. Could probably be done for $500.
Where I went to school has a mock wedding during the fall semester every year for the second year photography students to photograph. The "wedding party" were all first year students. One of the local churches allowed use of their sanctuary & grounds and the preacher conducted it as a class on the etiquette of photography in the church. The school also had a stock of wedding dresses in the studio & a list of first year students who volunteered to model as "brides". The instructor would also pass along requests from people in the community who were looking for students to photograph a wedding (on the cheap) to give students a chance to actually get out and shoot weddings. All good portfolio builders. A couple of my fellow shooters were already hooked up with local wedding photographers as second shooters, and were allowed to use the shots they had made for their portfolio. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
