I also have a Toshiba Satellite Pro, purchased July 2009, with Vista for Business. I had to have the keyboard replaced after a grandchild stood on it shortly after purchase (Toshiba did it for free!), but apart from that t's been excellent. Slow start-up, as Mark said., but quick in operation. Two years ago I bought my wife a Toshiba Netbook, and that's a pretty neat little machine for her use.

The dual core processor and 4 gigs of ram are good enough to support Photoshop CS5.1. It's taken its licks over the years and the pins that hold the top cover/screen down broke off when I dropped it a few years ago, but otherwise I have no complaints about the machine. I'm not a fan of the Vista OS but aside from unduly long bootup times and the annoying habit of disabling the USB ports after downloading updates (re-enabled on the next reboot) it is OK. My wife bought a Toshiba 4 or 5 years ago and it has also held up very well. When I go to get a new laptop someday I'll check out Toshiba - I'm not current on whether or not they are still good. The HP Elite Books that the IT folks at work give me are pretty nice as well.
