Thanks. In fact it was Saturday and there was a big funeral in the village.
This was in Transylvania, not in Maramures. I was invited to the wake, where they served stuffed vine leaves washed down with tsuica. Afterwards the family of the deceased man asked me to take their photos, which I did, and I was then taken to almost every house in the village where I had to have another shot of home-distilled tsuica.
