LOL. I've always found that after the initial spurt of off-topicness has died down, the posts complaining about it and then debating the nature of the PDML go on for significantly longer than the original off-topic stuff. We, the subscribers and contributors, determine the nature of the PDML with our posts. If we, as a group, want a topic to go away, we simply stop posting about it, and it does. I like the PDML this way, and aside from the occasional flameup (which you joined just in time for, Taka), it's pretty civilized around here. Give it a couple of days and don't stress about it.
