You'll probably see the leds flicker as the camera will think the
batteries are near to exhaustion. I try to use Silver Oxide in the MX
LX and ME cameras I have, that's what they were designed to use, other
chemistries will work, but not optimally. At least with the MX the
battery only powers the meter so the camera won't suddenly cease working
when a low enough voltage is reached.

I'm not getting any reading from the meter at all now. At the weekend, the LEDs
for underexposure would show, but none would show for correct or overexposure.
A week or so ago it seemed to be working correctly.
I'm hoping that this was the effect of batteries marginally within the required
voltage rather than a problem with the meter!
