i wonder which "technically literate" you mean

having worked closely with folks who were top security nerds (one literally wrote the book) in a segment of open source software, i am very familiar with the security process that community uses; the whole community (Drupal) is constantly reminded how tenuous their security might be by weekly security advisories, as well as by a review process for all submitted code which often admonishes poor security practices; there is no perfect security; ultimately, there is no security
