I was thinking about a compact tele zoom to use as part of a walking around kit, and it occured to me that one of the very first AF lenses I every bought - the Takumar F 70-200 - struck me as a super sharp zoom at the time. Found one at a good price on line and it just arrived today. First tests with the K-3 are really promising - sharp, snappy AF, small, light and compact. The lens is in pristine condition down to the "Takumar" press on lens cap... My 80-320 was a bit big but worse has gotten increadibly LOUD with a high pitched gear-whine noise when the barrel rotates. The 70-200 f2.8 is bigger than I want for this use...

I think this lowly Takumar F might be just the trick!
