Judging by the images in the Pentax Photo Gallery for this lens, ( http://www.pentaxphotogallery.com/photos/gallery/query?camera=&lens=940 ) it does appear to be a sharp one. It is apparently the equivalent to the Pentax-F 70-200mm, except lacking the SMC coatings (allegedly).
You have to love bang-for-the-buck lenses!
