Thanks, Ken, Bruce, PJ, and Paul. Yes it is the new Mayor who wants to get rid of the hansom cabs, charter schools and "stop and frisk" police tactics. He made campaign promises to the PETA people, and well as to all the municipal unions.
The horses have long been part of the ambiance of The City. Most visitors and residents like to see the horses and carriages, although few actually pay to ride. There already is an alternative available: the pedicabs that terrorize pedestrians and vehicles alike.
