I have a small helicopter I fly around the room when I'm mega-bored but
that'a as far as it goes.

I did think very briefly about looking into camera drones but I have a
friend/colleague who went into it - thew problem is that to do it
properly for broadcast TV (which would be my motive) one needs to spend
several thousand on good kit. Then there's regulation - in the UK it
requires a license (filming - even for news - from an remote aerial
vehicle requires certification) for which there is all the rigamarole
you would expect. It's effectively a specialisation, and I already
specialise in remote shoot/edit/ satellite feed which is enough for now!
That and too much GoPro rigging gear and jibs etc.

That said, the footage off these things - in the right hands - is
breathtaking.

I'll stick to my little helicopter. Favourite ploy is flying it over my
napping son, positioning carefully at about 6 feet in altitude and
cutting power directly over his nads.
