The only difference between the K-5II and K-5IIS is that the latter doesn't
have a low pass filter. My recent survey of the market for the K5[xxx] cameras
is that the K-5 is often selling for as much or more than the K-5IIs and that
K-5II cameras have mostly disappeared from the more reliable online retailers.

i went through this a couple of months ago, replacing my K-5 which was lost in an odd way, and i wound up buying a low-milage used K-5 for $450 shipped; good used K-5IIs were in the $600+ range, and in my personal situation i didn't see $150-200 more value

the main benefit of the K-5II is somewhat improved autofocus in poor light, not a priority for me, and for the K-5II the lack of an anti-alias filter would only matter for me in a small minority of pictures, so the K-5 was the sweet spot in used prices
