Thanks Alan and Bob. It's an amazing location and I was wanting to move there until I remembered how cold it gets during winter. It gets very busy during ski season - summer is their quiet time. That's good because it means the accommodation becomes affordable.

I did manage to see one sunset but it may be a while before I whittle those photos down.

Couldn't care less about the rugby btw :D

You can't possibly be a Kiwi, then. Surely.

Nice set of images - that looks to be a stunning place to spend some time during the off season.

3, 4, 6 and 9 are my picks.

Cheers

Brian

Stunning shots, Dave, and what a location. Very clear & sharp right up to the horizon. Sorry about the Crusaders last week!

Subject: GESO: Wanaka Sunrise

When I was in Wanaka in January I was needing to get up quite early each morning to prepare myself for the early start on race day. After getting up I would usually wander around the lakeside watching the sunrise while my wife "slept in" until a more reasonable time. I'd carry the camera with me and took quite a few photos... it's taken me this long to finally get around to presenting a few (a baker's dozen, to be precise).

After the race I decided to keep getting up early - I've always been a bit of a late riser and it had been annoying me. My wife took advantage of my early starts to get a cup of tea delivered to her in bed every morning, which continues to this day :)

Cheers,
Dave
