well, it's structurally about the same in Copenhagen - bikeways are generally a couple of inches higher than the roadway, still tarmac, and without any pronounced curb or marking, and then there is a slight curb at the sidewalk which is concrete and/or cobble
but folks are fastidious about staying where they belong; i never saw a bicyclist riding in the pedestrian way (some of the Strøget — carless streets — being the exception), and only in special cases do pedestrians step into the bikeways; at bus stops you have to observe the distance of the bus and the waves of bicyclists to plan your steps across the bikeway; if there are bikes that will arrive with the bus, you step out early and tuck yourself at the outer edge of the bikeway
