Quoting "P.J. Alling" <[email protected]>:
The "local" camera store just bought the entire collection of a
local eccentric, and by eccentric I mean he seems to have bought at
least one of every camera manufactured since at least the mid 70's
and a lot of other stuff as well. Left them in boxes and just
stashed them away. Not special cameras that are collectors items
but everything. New in box Minoltas, Canons, Nikons, Pentaxs,
Leicas, you name it.
The store sold all the not particularly special Leica stuff to KEH,
and are putting out the other stuff on display. Two NIB MX cameras
went for about 100 bucks a piece, (I could kick myself).
Among the used stuff is the afore Mentioned Honeywell Pentax
Spotmeter, they only want about 60 bucks for it but I have no idea
what battery it takes and no one in the store knows either. If
you've priced a used Spotmeter you know what a bargain that is if it
works and if the battery is available. So does anybody know?
Not sure if these (ended) Ebay auctions are talking about the same
Spotmeter model that you're considering, but they mention both a PX640
battery and a 9V battery:

Hope this helps.
