A textbook shot, Jack. Prickly pears have become problematic invaders in SA since being introduced about 300 years ago. Cochineal bugs were later introduced to control them with considerable success. I have even seen the odd plant in the most out of the way parts of Kruger! I'll remember to take s shot next time I see one.
