It looks like a decent lens, by all accounts, but the release documents
quoted at a couple of sites don't look encouraging, in that only Nikon
mounts are said to support "automatic" operation. What ever that might
mean.
What I'm taking it to mean is that all mounts except Nikon are plain old
machined metal mounts with an aperture ring, while Nikon has the
electronics for open aperture metering. KA mounts are simple enough to
engineer but Samyang didn't bother to acquire whatever rights are now
required to make anything other than plain K mount lenses.
I could be wrong about that, but you would think that they'd tout having
full metering compatibility with Pentax if they actually supported it.

I seldom get use of ultra-wide lenses. And when I tried Pentax 12-24
couple of years ago, I found that it was too wide for my typical use.
However, in my two recent trips twice I wished I had something wider
than 17mm of my 17-70 and not fisheye (8mm).
Still, it probably wouldn't justify for me buying a new lens now.
But I thought there might be somebody here who also missed the news.
