Dan - you really need to use a much higher F stop for doing this kind
of stuff - it either needs to be edge to edge sharp or the opposite -
very wide open and blurred background.. nothing looks sharp to me here..
a tripod, great DOF and ISO 100 with Mirror locked up or possibly
go as high as 1600 ISO if handheld.
The problem with shooting this kind of shot is that it looks sharp in
the field when you are looking at the LCD image on the back of the camera.
