I don't know of any domes in the immediate vicinity, though there is one on a town about 20 miles from here (where the ground is stable). A dome wouldn't do any better here than any other type of building unless the builder was prepared to do mushroom piles 50 feet or so deep. The tallest building here is 20 stories. After that, the engineering requirements to go taller are darned near impossible to overcome, and way to expensive to be worthwhile.
