If we're going to following the implication of the subject, then one might want to consider a mechanical camera, as batteries would be a problem to come by on a desert island. I'm also assuming that you would like us to consider which *Pentax* we'd take to a desert island, although that's not indicated anywhere in your post.
With all that, if limited to a Pentax, and really was going to a desert island <LOL>, I'd take the MX with the A100/2.8 macro. If not limited to a Pentax I'd probably opt for the Leica M2 or M6 Wetzlar (if it arrives before I'm stranded) and fit it with a pre-Aspherical Summicron 35mm/1.4 lens. Now, if stranded on a desert island, what people would you photograph? Or are you describing the climate of the island, not the lack of population? Climate and population considerations might be a deciding factor as to which camera/lens combination would be best suited. Perhaps you should reformulate your question to be more precise. I'd not want to take the wrong gear. Mark Erickson wrote: > > Ok, here's a new question for you on this bright and happy Monday.
