Hello Godfrey, congratulations for the 600mm Sigma Mirror Lens. I too have one but in f 8. I can use it on my K-5 in bright sunlight. Do use it with the clear glass filter at the rear as it tends to make the image a bit sharper. Mine came for CAD 75 from a Toronto Star Gazer Professor in M42 Mount with an Original Pentax Japan K Converter- in Mint condition with the Hood. Light and easy to hand hold but as you said a Tripod would be better. I jack up the Saturation, Contrast and Sharpness in Bright mode on my K-5 when using this lens.
