To cover all situations, the body would have to offer TTL flash. That makes my
choice between a working Super Program and a broken Ricoh XR-P. Neither has
mirror lockup, but the Ricoh has less vibration, an aperture window, a
vertical release button, an exposure lock button that holds the exposure till
you take the shot, and a display that doesn't need refreshing every 30 seconds
or so. For this photographer, that tips my decision toward fixing the Ricoh.

For the lens, I'll go with my Pentax 50/1.4 PKA over my Rikenon P 50/2, for
these reasons:

1. The colors are more pleasing to my family.

2. The Ricoh, for some reason, is extra loud in program mode and doesn't offer
shutter priority, so I wouldn't need the Rikenon's P setting.

My alternate choice, actually, would be the Pentax SMC 35/2K, because

1. I love the results, even at f/2.8.

2. It's more versatile indoors, for the kind of pictures I take.

3. For many years 35mm was my only focal length (Minox 35s, Olympus XA) and
I'm pretty good at making the most of it.
