Hi, because the M3 has framelines for 50mm, 90mm and 135mm lenses, so using a 35mm lens is inconvenient with an M3. The M4-2 (and all others from the M2 onwards until just recently) have framelines for at least a 35mm, 50mm, 90mm lens.
