A rather belated reply, Don. Fascinating scenes, well caught, even if
somewhat clandestinely. I don't know much about the Amish except that they
lead strict, insular lives in the old way. The closed in buggies are kept in
amazingly good condition. The car park scene with the buggies & cars is a
kind of interface between two worlds.
In SA, there is a rural area in the Northern Cape on the Orange River called
Orania where a few hundred Afrikaners live in the same sort of way, just as
they did before the Anglo-Boer War. At one stage they even hoped to become
an independent state.

On my way to Mackinaw we spent two days in Indiana Amish area. These are
