I bought a couple of WD drives some years back (around 2008), two RAID enclosures with two 1T drives each. The WD enclosures went belly-up within a year or two. I pulled the drives out and fitted them into good quality enclosures from Other World Computing, and reconfigured them as individual standalone 1T drives.
Two of those drives are still in use, the other two were replaced with 2T drives along the way.
