If Pentax offered a FF camera with the 24MP sensor, it would have to have an anti-alias filter due to that bigger pixel pitch... which seems a step backwards from where Pentax has been with the IIS and the K-3. Sony is rumored to be announcing new full frame cameras with a new 40+ MP sensor in January. That would presumably NOT require an AA filter. IF TRUE, I would expect to see Nikon offering a full frame camera with that same sensor soon after Sony. What if Pentax adopted that sensor for their full frame? Some think that this may encroach too much on the 645z, but only if you ignore the benefits of having the 51MP with a larger pixel pitch, leaf shutter lenses, etc. Besides, both are catering to an entirely different lens customer. When Pentax talks about "market conditions" I think they mean that "we aren't going to offer a 24MP full frame when everybody else's releases has made now that look like yesterday's news." -- Photographers must learn not to be ashamed to have their photographs look like photographs. ~ Alfred Stieglitz -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
