Carlos - thanks...
I sure appreicate the offer, but I looked one up on ebay and it
weighs 15 ounces.. twice as much as the 18-55.. The K-5 with the
lens I have is already heavier than I can manage comfortably these
days. (Remembering the days when I had two lx's , one with a 135
one with a 28 around my neck for hours... before broken back and shoulder and much younger. sigh.)

I'm guessing buying a used one or refurbished will be less expensive
than getting it fixed. So Now I have a manual 50 mm macro, a manual 28mm
and the 55-300 zoom that makes the camera too heavy for me to carry much.

I wish prime auto focus lenses were cheap

anyone selling the 18-55?

Ann, I have a Sigma 18-50 2.8-4.5 OS HSM which I don't use nowadays. OS
means it has inner optical stabilization (not necessary with most Pentax
SLRs) and HSM means it has its own focusing motor, like Pentax SDM and
DC lenses. You can have it for free. It has also tha advantage of being
2/3 of a stop faster than the Pentax 18-55, and it has internal zoom and
internal focusing too.
If you are interested, let me know.

Carlos
