I am amused by people complaining about the lightroom folder/directory
structure, because I find that one of its key advantages is being able
to set up and implement my own directory structure. Then using some of
Jeff Friedl's tools, I can even process the files into jpegs while
maintaining the directory structure.
I just set up directories on the fly inside the import dialogue.
Lightroom really comes into it's own when one applies keywords on import
and uses them as the search criteria rather than a directory structure.
I've never gotten my head around Lightroom as an image processor. I
process in Lightroom for white balance and lens lens corrections, but
after that I'm more comfortable in Photoshop so that's where I go.
