Happening??? While out with the K-3 this PM, I decided the shutter was maybe lagging. (shooting in AF-C (H) continuous. I was using a freshly charged battery. I went to the menu and switched to AF-S, chose 2 (Release-Priority) and expected a frame rate at least as fast as the K-5. Sluggish and irregular is what I heard. I removed the lens and tried it again. This time it sounded like it might be a rate of 8.3fps. Tried three different lenses. DA16-45, DA55-300 and DA50-135. All sounded very similar and none seemed to approached the shutter speed achieved without a lens. I checked the K-5 and found it at what must have been 'prox 7fps, with or without a lens. K-3 FPS-priority (AF-C) rate was very similar to AF-S.
