I'll bet it is a 20mp K-50 replacement. The only question of real interest is will it have an improved auto focus system, inherited from the K-3 or get the K-5II AF system. Ricoh could do either. While a tilt screen will be welcome to some, it introduces another mechanical system that can fail, and makes the camera a bit bulkier. I do hope that Ricoh also introduces a K-500 replacement in the same vein, the K-S1 isn't really entry level, and it's just not been all that well received to become that even with a substantial price drop.

Now let the gnashing of teeth begin as it's not the long anticipated Full Frame DSLR that everyone says they want but no one will buy if it's more than $1200.00.

The DSLR looks like a K-50 replacement with an tiltable read monitor.
