Having handled Nikon and Canon cameras from my experience Pentax
ergonomics are generally superior. Buying a Pentax without prior
handling would be a superior experience to buying a camera from their
major DSLR producing rivals. I won't speak to the K-S1, which seems to
have been designed by a team that heard a rumor of 70]s disco, or the
sadly short changed K-01, (a camera that I consider defeated by Hoya
bean counters, before it was ever released), but at every price point,
Pentax DSLRs simply feel better in the hand.

I wonder if that's because you already have to be a bit of a fan boy to even
know about Pentax DSLRs, if we've been so beaten down throughout the years
our expectations are lower, Stockholm syndrome, or just maybe because
they really are pretty good cameras?
I notice that the trends across all brands are tending towards more
serious photographers bying DSLRs. I suspect that is because everyone else
just uses their phone.
