Quoting Mark C <[email protected]>:
Everybody but me probably knows about this already but... I just downloaded something called DSLR Remote to my android phone ... and wow, my phone is now an IR remote for my cameras. No more hunting for that little IR remote! Works with the K-3 which seems to be fussy about IR remotes (since only my true Pentax remote works with it, and not the cheap generic that I picked up on Amazon.) Nice to know that my phone is now also a remote / interval timer / timer.
I generally prefer wired remotes but I have used an IR remote with my Q (I really wish that had a wired remote port). The problem I find is that the IR Remote is very 'hit or miss', especially with the rear IR port of the Q, meaning that the shutter often doesn't fire when I need it to.
I hadn't heard of DSLR Remote but I've just installed it on my phone. I'll see how it performs with the Q. (as an aside, I already use the phone to fire my Oly E-M10 remotely, but that works on wifi - very effective).
Thanks for the tip. -- Cheers Brian ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Brian Walters Western Sydney Australia http://lyons-ryan.org/southernlight/ -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
