I just tried the phone from about 20 feet away from the K3 and it worked
- but Pentax brand remote I have also works from that range.

with the K-3 which seems to be fussy about IR remotes (since only my true
Pentax remote works with it, and not the cheap generic that I picked up on
Amazon.) Nice to know that my phone is now also a remote / interval timer /
timer.
