I'm amazed that Apple hasn't gotten into 3D printers (yet). (If they

They are certainly more common than P.J. asserted. My employer has a
Stratasys refrigerator-sized 3D printer in their precision machine &
tool shop (and has for years). Jay Leno has one that he uses to make
parts in his car restoration business. There are sub-$1500 printers
that get great reviews on Amazon, for God's sake.

As I type this, I'm watching an EXCELLENT film on the 3D printing
revolution (on NetFlix) entitled: "Print the Legend" (you'll find it
in Documentaries)
I highly recommend watching it. It rotates between 4 intertwining story lines.
