My Epson V500 scanner died today. I’ve been working it pretty hard scanning old negs and prints for some magazine articles. I think I used it for about four years. First it started posterizing the blacks on negative scans, then it shutdown completely, returning only error messages when I asked for preview scans.
I was going to just go for the V600 but the reviews of the V850 were too tempting to resist. I also ordered a betterscan.com film holder for medium format, since I saw a lot of complaints about Epson's medium format holder. Looking forward to scanning a lot of the 6x7 film I shot in the last decade, plus some of the 6x6 I shot in the 70s and 80s.
