I use Thunderbird - latest version -- within XP. I don't leave my mail on the server (of course, if I've wrotten you, they are on yours - but nevermind) so that my inbox and my saved outgoing messsages act as a filing system of information for me.. I love it.. but it has be sluggish lately - all the incoming mail (except pdml which gets treated separately) is saved and I have over 14000 messages from 2012 to now -
I like the convenience of having them in one folder, but i'm thinking
perhaps I should archive 2012, at least. I do go back and search things and find important info I need back several years.

SO the question is - if I put more into the archive secion, will that
make the bird load faster? and hog the ram less?? I generally need to
have ELements, chrome and thunderbird open and sometimes firefox browser too.

thanks,
ann
