Google buying the archive didn't kill UseNet, but combining it with
Gmail & their own non-Usenet Google Groups didn't help. I think what may
have really done it was the difficulty of creating a killfile that would
work with the web interface.

It was my own ISP's decision to no longer provide newsgroup access that
did it for me.

Google bought the archive (which means they will probably delete it
