I'm sure there are similar apps for Android (pa-TOOIE!) etc. Even a
simple flashlight app would work for the purpose.

I'll keep that in mind for if I ever get a smart phone. In the meantime,
both of my scanners have built in light sources, plus I already have a
light-box.
