A simple blue hepatica -

http://www.markcassino.com/b2evolution/index.php/simple-blue-hepatica

Scouting for spring wildflowers today I was surprised to see a good number of hepatica out already. I forgot that I took the tripod out of the car (that is where I keep it) when I was loading up with stuff to donate to Good Will last week, so I shot hand held / TAV mode / open aperture with a plan to stack focus. Laid down on the ground in the woods - its been a dry spring so I was not wallowing in mud, just resting in clean leaves, pine needles and (probably) animal poop. (I saw a lot of animal poop in the snow there a few weeks ago). No snacking on the way home.

This is the first stack that worked - 9 images. I have a lot of material to work through.

Comments appreciated.

The final edit of the "muddy march leaves" photo from a few weeks ago. Much better IMO.
