thanks everyone for you comments on this - I love Jack's simple
"add to cart" advice, as well as the more elaborate ones, some of which
flew over my head ..
Fortunately, until I get the new beast, I can get on the web and sign in
where I need to on my friend's mac - but he has an uncomfortable mouse
and the wireless keyboard is difficult , so it is very slow going.

The laptop I use at school has only 4 gig (Win 7, 32-bit) and
it's fine for all the class material I do, much of which is more
demanding that the sort of things Ann needs to accomplish.
