Darren,

I saw this image in the morning on my phone, and pulled it up tonight, on my laptop. I enjoyed it. I like the juxtaposition of the metallic (and rusty) thingy and very tranquil field behind, with the lone tree there.

I agree that it look better without the orphan tree branch on the right.
I respectfully disagree with Ken's suggestion to do it in a portrait.
On opposite, I would've preferred even a slightly wider angle (but I am guessing that some other objects might invade the photo in that case, and you probably have already cropped the sides).
My eyes would want to see this in at least the 2:3 format.
A tranquil field should have the breadth.
(And sorry, I don't like this version:

That's a totally different feel.

So, for that reason, I would suggest that the small tree branch should be cloned out rather than "trimmed".

Cheers,

Igor

With apologies to Andrew Wyeth, but this just reminded me of an
automotive version of his "Christina's World". Taken with a Pentax K-3
and Sigma EX 10-20mm f4-5.6 in the "back forty" on an abandoned
farmstead in northwest Kansas. I believe that this paint color in 1959
was called "Frost Blue Poly" but I like how its hue is repeated in the
sky. https://goo.gl/TQ1oU1

Comments and criticism welcome in equal measure.
