I so wish that there were an Open Source option for camera firmware so
we could implement features like this.
IIRC, there was an "open source" hacked firmware for the K20D that
allowed you to turn off the dark slide subtraction [???] for long exposures.
[???] = I'm not sure that's what it's actually called. I'm talking about
when you took a 30sec exposure and then the camera added another 30 sec
with the shutter closed to calculate where the sensor noise was & then
subtracted it from the image ... IF I actually understood the discussion
of what it was doing.
