On Saturday, my wife and I had an appointment in New York.
I contacted Ann to confirm that her exhibit in the Comfort Diner
downtown was still closed, but suggested we try to get together for a
late lunch someplace. It turned out that our meeting was across the
street from the other Comfort Diner, the one on 45th Street and Third
Avenue. Since Lee and I were on a tight schedule, Ann was gracious
enough to travel up to meet us in the diner.
We had a wonderful chat over lunch, and I learned all about Ann's long
and varied life, especially her earlier years as an actress. She is a
truly remarkable woman.
