PJ,
This is a very interesting photo, and I am surprised that only Frank responded so far. So that I had to break out of my "being busy" streak to comment on it.
I've been looking at it for the second day, trying to figure out and verbalize what it reminds me of, but without much of success. The combination of the B&W, grain, shadows, OOF background -- it is nicely stylized as a photo from 60-70s, possibly as a shot from a movie. -- That's the main comparison that comes to my mind.
The only thing that I would wish is more space around it, but I suspect that you either didn't have the width of the lens, or the surrounding was cluttered.
Thanks for sharing! Igor On 23 August, 2015 9:30:20 PM EDT, "P.J. Alling" wrote:
I wanted to post this in reply to Frank's "Come Blow Your Horn". I shot this a few years ago, (evident from the Equipment), of a busker in New Haven, CT, really pouring it out, not holding anything back. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1604247/PESO/PESO%20--%20bodyandsoul.html Equipment: Pentax *ist-Ds w/smc Pentax M 85mm f2.0 Notes: B&W rendering using DXO FilmPack 3.0 emulating Tri-X pan with a yellow filter.
