The green button is supposed to set the exposuere according to a program
line. This can be practical in manual mode or X-mode.
I actually found out that theres a setting called Av SHIFT. I can be
foud in the programming e-wheel menu. So I actually solved my problem.
Now the green button works in X-setting.
Unfortunatelyy I discovered that my K-3 i faulty.
In Tv mode the shutterspeed changes to programline as soon I I press the
release button.
So now I must send it to the repair shop :-(
This is the third time in 34 years, that I have experienced faults on a
Pentax camera. Shame on Pentax - I was begining to believe they never
got sick :-)

I just looked at my K20D because, well, with mine, X sync is 180
regardless of lens focal length, or, anything else. The green button
will reset any other adjustable exposure parameter to center, (e.g. in
the flash menu pressing the green button will reset flash exposure
compensation to 0, or pressing the +/- key and the green button resets
the exposure compensation to 0), when in X mode but that doesn't seem to
be what you said.
On my K20D and on my K-5II for that matter, setting the mode dial to X
guarantees that you get the highest Sync speed that the camera supplies,
period.
Maybe you're K20D isn't working right.
