I drove into NYC  hundreds, perhaps thousands of times when I lived in Jersey, 
1980 to 1992. Not a problem. Never hesitated. But I was basically a New Yorker 
living in the 'burbs.i knew many who had no desire to take advantage of what 
the city had to offer.
