Yes I know, that Japanese Beetle again. But it's not his fault. In Japan they're controlled by predators, here they're not, so they do what millions of years of evolution have designed them to do: eat plants.
It's not like they asked to come to the Americas - apparently they arrived with iris bulbs about a hundred years ago. Anyway, I think they're quite beautiful.
