I've got one of these critters that I bought used (and pretty beat
up, too, but just how often do you see one of these that you can
afford to be choosy, but I digress...). It does go down your arm,
but only a little past your wrist. There's enough room inside for
an LX and a winder (although if I'm trying to minimize noise, I
would try to avoid using the winder). It does deaden the sound
somewhat, but I think a naked ME Super is still quieter than a
"gloved" LX - <g>. By the way, although it is usually shown
emphasizing its use with an LX in the typical Pentax "Lenses and
Accessories" catalog, it also fits other bodies, too - in fact, I
have an old Pentax Dealer Catalog from 1982 that describes it as a
"Blimp Case MX LX".

Another useful gadget for enclosing the ME Super (or any other M
body) is the Short Soft Case ME/MX. (I understand that Pentax made
a Short Soft Case for the K bodies, too, but I haven't seen one
myself.) Unlike the Blimp, it doesn't surround your hand - it goes
only around the body (without winder). It has a flap that unsnaps
to let you wind the film and to operate the exposure and shutter
controls (which, of course, does present a bit of a "sound leak"
area), and it has a "gasketed" round opening in front for the tail
end of a lens to pass through (like with the Blimp). So, you take
your super quiet ME Super, put it inside a Short Soft Case ME/MX,
and you can then be accused of acoustically "gilding the lily" (but
you ~won't~ be accused of making much noise - <g>).

Actually, even putting just the bottom half of an eveready case on a
body helps a little bit with sound attenuation. However, the Short
Soft Case provides a fairly elegant modest improvement over that,
and the Blimp Case provides a somewhat ungainly small further
improvement over the Short Soft Case.
