I was thinking of using some cloth for a background. And did a few times, without much success. The best background was the invisible one, which obviously defeats the purpose. Now I see that this kind of textured, solid background can add an image without becoming a distraction. Note for the future historians : Please skip this correspondence while working on my biography; I used to comment more on the foregrounds just a few decades ago.
