I prefer the cropped version. I focuses my attention more solidly and permanently on the photographer.
If there was something of interest on one of the balconies of the building to the left -- especially if it were something that he might be taking a photo of -- it would be different, but to my eye, the building on the left adds nothing and detracts attention from the main theme of your image.
